Well I gave in and tried it. Mine starts with a 9.
Maybe it's time to cash it in for a few new credit card sign on bonuses ;)

Of course we will probably now get Nigerian offers as a result of looking up our details. I would expect that the Nigerian offer would be twice as good as any other offer.

Ooh, almost got a "good" but 2 points off. I'm average. Think I've applied for a few too many credits cards and have no long term employment, technically.

I'd rate my chances of a default in real life somewhere equal to Mecha-Stalin conquering Europe.

Far from perfect system with credit card limits and income levels having a heavy weighting over assets and card balance history.
Thought my rating was fair though bemused that the better half had a 40 odd point higher rating despite only earning income through the family trust's part ownership of our business in recent years.
Would highly recommend those running their own business (assuming they are going well) submit company financials every couple of years to D&B and Veda.

Actually income levels have no influence on your Veda score.

Received a very strong rejection when applying for the recent ANZ Qantas points promtion and a letter from ANZ saying I failed my Veda report.

Have submitted information to access my free Veda report and just now did the "getcreditscore" form which has come back with a 990+.

Interesting!

Maybe you were rejected because they think they won't make any money from you with a score that good?

I am much higher in the US with Experian where I am 790 out of a possible 830.
In Australia I am sub 800 on Veda out of a possible 1200 but I always pay the credit cards to zero on time. I have card limits in excess of 500,000 so that might be a factor.

I received the same letter when they rejected me. I think it is a form letter. It is ANZ way of saying it is your fault as there are to many inquires on your credit report.

I still don't exist according to getcreditscore :!: :D
I stopped trying. My credit rating means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

What matters is how easily I can get credit. And right now they are falling over themselves to offer me more credit. ;)

I gave my details to the 'Nigerians' and was surprised how 'low' a score I received (still a high number, but far lower than I was originally estimating). It must have been the recent ANZ Black application that did it (my only new credit application in the past two to three years). It just shows how 'wrong' these calculations can be as they only have a very small sample of information to go with.

Once it finally recognised me I too was surprised to get a rather low score (in the middle of the "Good" band). So I ordered a copy of my credit record from Veda just to see. There wasn't anything obvious in there that I could identify as the cause of the low score, although of course they don't make the score calculation method public.

One interesting thing I did discover from my credit report however was that for the 12-15 months or so that I held a Woolworths Mastercard, and a David Jones Amex, both companies (HSBC & Amex) were pinging my credit report on a monthly basis as a "routine credit check". I don't know for sure but I suspect that those checks actually contributed to the lower than expected score. The pings stopped soon after I closed both those cards.

I have a woolies MasterCard but killed the DJ Amex. But I do have a westpac Amex. Credit score fine. Excellent actually.
