Hi Folks

I've held status with Le Club Accor for a number of years. But now I'm done with Accor and I've taken my business elsewhere.

I've had an ongoing saga for the last 2-3 years where I get continually hassled by Accor to sign up to their Accor Advantage Plus program. I get a phone call a few weeks after each time I check out of an accor hotel (the call starts with..."I hope you enjoyed your recent stay at [xyz Accor Hotel]" and then regular additional calls as a 'valued guest'.

I estimate I have had well over 50 calls in the last two years, thanking me for my custom and selling me Accor Plus (or some other Accor product). Each time I decline and firmly advise that I want my details removed from all of their systems and do not wish to receive these calls any longer. Each time I am advised that this has happened, but the calls continue. I've tried advising on check in I don't want my contact details shared, but the calls continue.

I can't block the calls become they all come from many different numbers - both in Aus and overseas.

In some ways it is a first world problem, but it is infuriating and shows no sign of letting up. I've now moved my business away from Accor around 4 months ago, but the calls haven't stopped.

I want to submit a formal complaint but can't find any option to do this other than just to send a generic form email to their global head office in Paris.

Can anybody point me to a better option to complain - that is likely to actually be heard? I want Accor to understand that the way in which they approach their marketing has cost them a significant number of room nights from me and has seriously damaged my opinion of their brand. If it wasn't for these calls I would still be staying at Accor hotels as I do actually like their product, but enough is enough.

Thanks in advance

Yes, I think the Do Not Call is first port of call but yes they rotate numbers.

The only other thing I can think of is to personally contact Dino Mezzatesta Chief Executive Officer Accor Plus voicing your concerns and that you have submitted request(s) to do not call and are still being contacted.

They typically follow [email protected]

But yes, Accor Plus can be a rogue organisation at the best of times!

i don't advocate this but 1 fellow i heard of an interesting approach in dealing with the continuous marketing material being sent to his deceased father from a bank,

he got them to stop by attaching all the mail he kept getting to a house brick and sending it addressed to their CEO...
