Hello, my children have points expiring in June, but not enough to do a family transfer. What activity can I do to stop them expiring? Res Plan surveys have to be 18+ and seems similar with most things my FF is linked to. Thanks.

You can transfer some to them and then transfer the whole lot back to you I think

Easiest way is just to buy something cheap (or even expensive) online through the Qantas estore using their QFF details, or through others that are linked to Qantas.

ie on ebay you can probably find some thing for a few $ with free delivery.

I may be wrong but I thought they got rid of that years ago. Though it may be the velocity program I am thinking of.

If you have the points you can transfer at least 5000 to the child account and then transfer back their whole balance to you.
For example, child account has 3800 points. You transfer 5000 to child's account then transfer 8800 points fom child's account back to you. Done this a couple of times.

Alternatively go to eBay via this link (https://shopping.qantas.com/ebay) and buy something cheap - as suggested above.

Only issue with that (in my experience) is that QF store points take a long time to hit the account.

Poster says that points are expiring in June.

If they act now should be ok, but yes would not want to wait or try to do just prior.

Can they download the Qantas Wellbeing App? (Must be at least 13 years old according to the App T&Cs.)

You can download the app, complete a one-day step goal or even just say you've checked the smoke detectors in your house, and get at least one Qantas point for free. This prevents all the rest of the points from expiring for another 18 months.

The OP is only talking about the kids expiring - if they are put into the OP account then should be OK

According to Qantas Website:

What are Family transfers?

Family Transfers enable you to transfer a portion of your points to an eligible family member, who is also a Frequent Flyer member, in any 12-month period.
Family transfers don't count as activity on your account, or the account you transfer points to, for the purpose of preventing your points from expiring.

Also according to Point Hacks;

Transferring points between family members will not prevent your points from expiring (transferred points take on the expiry date of existing points in the account)

That's true, but I think the idea here is to transfer 5,000 points into the child's account, then transfer the entire new balance straight back to the parent.

This will be fine as long as the child's account is still active at the time of making the transfer.

Ok, I understand your point now in terms of moving the points into another account.

So Qantas is incorrect then?

If the OP transfers points to the child's account and then transfers them back the child's points are now aligned to the OPs account. I have been doing this for years and once the points are back in my account they have not expired.

Would need to check if any of these have an age limitation.
Some may need the physical card.

Qantas well being app - assuming children meet the age requirement.

then you don't have to buy something you may not want.

It's not about creating activity on the kids account. This is about moving the points to an account that has current activity and will not expiry.

If you have the points you can transfer at least 5000 to the child account and then transfer back their whole balance to you.
For example, child account has 3800 points. You transfer 5000 to child's account then transfer 8800 points fom child's account back to you. Done this a couple of times.

where you have multiple kids the process is:

5000 points parent to kid 1
8800 points kid 1 to kid 2
...
8800 + ??? points kid 2 to parent.

add as many steps as you like

Join the BP rewards on line, then scan their card every now and then when you buy petrol, then you can keep it going and points hit the account the day after the transaction in my experience.

Lots of good advice up-thread.

For our Little Miss NM account, she also has a WW Everyday Rewards account links. After many months of not using her rewards card when shopping, she recently received an offer to spend $30 week1, $40 in week 2, and $50 in week 3 for a total of 6000 EDR points, which transferred into 3000 QFF points. Simple process of meeting the spend challenge for 3 week and not only was the account activity date reset, but 3000 points earned as well.

I also cycle through a few accounts when buying things on eBay. But the points can take a little while to come through so not the best (more reliable) options if close to inactivity date deadline.

Agree re BP.
If the kids have a QFF card, or you know the number, join BP rewards, physically type QFF number into any bar code generator on smartphone, and scan that at any BP outlet.
I use the Rewardle app.
BP is the fastest way of getting QFF points.
The BP person wouldn't know whose QFF card it is being used, just scan card or smartphone screen when buying fuel or other things.
Not phone recharges though.
