Thanks Markis your a star might give it a go.

At that distance, you'll need to give it 2 goes. However, there is a PER-AKL on NZ metal available which can get you to gold in 1 go at 100% accrual rate for new Aegean members, but it does not connect well at all.

Perth Auckland would credit 3319 each way, so it would need a round trip.

For PER-AKL-LAX, you need 1 round trip, but the flight connections are horrid.
If you are connecting via the east coast, there's no *A metal on the AU domestic leg so you'll need to do more than 1 round trip to make the gold status.

Stupid question, but looking at the program rules it seems like you need 4,000 points first to get to Blue status (*A Silver), and then another 16,000 to get to Gold (hence the 20,000 mentioned here).

So is it confirmed that if you do for example AKL-LAX (6500 miles) at 200% in Business return, that you qualify by simply achieving the 20,000 on the whole trip, and that it does not count like this: 13,000 on the first leg (so you've got Blue when arriving in LAX), then you get another 13,000 on the second leg, but still not enough for Gold as you need 16,000 according to the program rules?
