I am between cars right now due to the 5 series coming off lease and Mrs F not agreeing with my choice of a Range Rover Sport Supercharged for the time being. (She wants me to get a diesel VW Golf....Bah.)
Due to my travel right now, I have just been renting from my local Avis when I need a car.
I usually book a Lancer and then am given an XR6 or Commodore.
This morning however, I was waiting for my car to be washed when an old gentleman being served at the counter, just collapsed and started turning blue.
He was not a well man....
With limited assistance from the Avis staff I managed to get him on his back and commenced CPR after checking his pulse, breathing etc...
The staff called 000, and about 6-7 mins (Seemed liked forever) two crews came and took over.
They loaded him up and took him off to the Royal Brisbane.
I was a bit sweaty and shaky after this, so the manager put me in her office and organised a cold drink for me.
When I wandered out to get the car, the manager gave me the keys to a new v8 Caprice and thanked me profusely for looking after the customer.
I can imagine the paperwork she would have to go through if a customer passed away in her reception room....
I phoned the hospital to check on him, and without giving me too many details, they said he was stable.
Win/Win...
