Hi All,

Been lurking an reading for a while but I've got that travel bug again.
Looking at using my points to redeem Award flights to LAX.
Problem is for the 2 of us, I'm about 10k short on points.

Looking for solutions on how to quickly acquire these points.
I use my Qantas linked Amex for all purchases, convert woolies points and use the Qantas Mall (when it wants to give me points).

Alternatively if anyone knows how to get the Qantas system to let me purchase a normal flight and award flight for a different class in the same booking, it would be appreciated. Then I can not worry about the missing points.
As booking Economy over - Business return.

Thanks in advance :)

You can also purchase top up points but buying wine gives you points as well as wine. Pretty much instant. And their specials will give you enough points and pretty much inserted on purchase.

Qantas Wine points post fairly quickly, and is probably the easiest way of getting the points you require.

Qantas Points mall points can take up to 150 days to post (we can all thank the member on here who’d see points post at 30 days and then return their purchase for that one).

Purchasing top up points isn’t the cheapest option

Wine, frequent good 8-10K bonus point deals, for cases around $350 delivered, plus the 2.25x purch price if on Amex QF card. A couple of dozens, and your cellar is also nicely stocked.

I like your avatar. Your dog? As others said - wine is a quick and easy way. Often have bonus point offers which helps. Failing that I'd probably just buy top up points though they're not particularly cheap.

Yep that's my furkid, thanks :)
I'm happy with economy, because I can curl up and sleep anywhere but my travel companion wants room to sleep.
So may have to do some wine shopping.

Thanks all :)

Not sure if that meets the quick requirement, as the points are awarded per month after the $150 min spend for that month, so it may take 2-3 months before you see any points.
