Sorry, it's probably silly question, but this is new to me.

We are looking at a Oneworld award RTW booking, using the oneworld site. The first part is easy, heading via Asia to Lisbon.

We then want to return to Brisbane via Osaka, but the site will only accept that if I put in a stop at (say) LAX.

Is that what I have to do, find a connecting airport and just ensure the connection is less than 24 hours?

Are you trying to book an award ticket (Qantas has a RTW award called a oneworld award), or one of the two oneworld RTW revenue products?

Oneworld has 2 RTW products. The Oneworld Explorer, a continent based ticket, often known online as 'xONEx', and the Global Explorer, a mileage based ticket which includes other airlines besides just oneworld members.

The oneworld booking tool you have linked to only deals with xONEx tickets. The tool also has a large number of bugs in it.

Can't help without knowing just what you are trying to do.

TBH, I'm not really sure. We've been given a present from our son, based on Qantas points. So I assume it's the first one you mentioned.

The link I gave was from the Qantas site.

You can't book an award using the Oneworld website. You have to use the multi-city booking tool on the Qantas website, and tick the "use points - classic flight rewards only" box.
