How to buy points to upgrade from discounted economy with Star Alliance

I am a Gold Elite member with Turkish Air, and will be travelling to Europe next year on Singapore Airlines on discounted economy (part of a holiday package deal). Has anyone bought points to upgrade from discounted economy tickets? Would appreciate if you can share how this works. Thanks.

I believe SQ discount economy tickets are not upgradeable.

Discount economy tickets are not eligible for *A partner upgrades.

You could buy points with United or Avianca Life Miles, then redeem them for a Star Alliance partner upgrade. But as others have said, discount economy tickets are not eligible for Star partner upgrades.

If the fare was upgradeable, you would only be able to upgrade using this method if there was a sufficient number of award seats in the class of travel you wanted to upgrade into, on that particular flight.
