How quickly do points get allocated?

Hi All,

I have a question around how quickly QFF points are allocated to your account after flying? I'm flying SYD-SIN-KUL shortly and was thinking of using the points acquired on that leg to apply for a reward upgrade on the return leg (not enough points until that leg is completed!). Also, I being pretty new to the QFF program I was wondering how often reward upgrade applications are actually successful? Any information gratefully received!

Thanks,

Steve

If it's a QF-operated flight, the points should appear within 24-48 hours. Partner airlines can take longer.

The competition for upgrade awards is strong and success depends almost entirely on your status, however even with no status it's possible (e.g. if a flight is very quiet). But don't count on it. Also remember that you generally can't upgrade discount international fares, so depending on your fare class you may be ineligible anyway.

And welcome to AFF!

Thanks! I am eligible for an upgrade but did figure the odds would be pretty slim, I should have enough time to get the points I'll need so I guess you've got to be in it to win it!

SIN - KUL is 3K

Exactly - doesn't cost you anything to put in for an upgrade. My son once had an upgrade from Y to J on the lax-syd leg as a bronze, so you never can tell.
