I picked up a special ticket as below ...

HKG - LHR QF N class
LHR - CPH BA Q class
ARN - LHR BA Q class
LHR - HKG BA N class

How many miles / SC will I earn ? (I am a QFF nobody)

All the info if on the QF web site.

From the QF FF Points Calculator:

HKG - LHR QF N class = 6008 points and 40 Status Credits

And using the Airline Points Earning Table, BA Q and N earn 25% of miles flown and are both eligible classes for earning Status Credits. So using Great Circle Mapper, we find the distance, multiple by 0.25 to get the FF points, and use the SC Earning Table to establish the discount economy SCs as follows:

LHR - CPH BA Q class = 610 miles = 152 QF FF points and 15 SCs
ARN - LHR BA Q class = 911 miles = 227 QF FF points and 15 SCs
LHR - HKG BA N class = 5994 miles = 1498 QF FF points and 40 SCs

Note that the miles may be calculated slightly differently by QF and hence points may vary slightly. That is why I always use the QF calculator for QF flights. But I find GCM is pretty close for the mileage other airlines use.

True... If only QF would stop using metric miles, then GCM would be perfect for them

Actually, the reason for the discrepancy is because the southern hemisphere is slowly enlarging while the northern hemisphere is shrinking. We all know that the earth's core is molten and hence fluid and is therefore slowly moving down due to the affects of gravity, making the overall shape of the earth more like a pear than an orange. Since QF has one of longest periods of continual operation, and we all know they are slow to adjust their well-proven systems, their previous mileage calculations made with sextants and star charts are thus becoming less and less accurate as the southern hemisphere bulges.

Of course since the GCM is an Internet tool, it has to be 100% accurate at all times and is continually adjusting for the southern bulge.

By the way, its the same theory I explained to Mrs NM as to why my body mass is steadily migrating south  .

IME, this should be ok; as long as it's a Migration, not an expansion. ;)

Is that a typo NM? It should be 15SC's for distances between 601-1200 miles.

Nope, not a typo (for a change). It was a genuine mistake. Just not thinking hard enough. I will edit my original post so as not to confuse folks with my mistake.

An alternate explanation is that as you get older you continue to collect knowledge. Eventually you reach a critical point when your head/brain is full of knowledge and any new knowledge must find another point of equilibrium and/or expansion. Unfortunately on most people this happens to coincide with the area just below the chest.

Works for me :!:

I use a variation of that one. The change in my hair colour is a result of too much grey matter build-up inside my head. The grey then seeps out through the capillary action of my hair.

I suppose that is better than having the hair pushed all the way out to make space for more knowledge  .

Unfortunately I resemble both of those problems also.
