Can't wait for it to go tech and being JQ have a 3hr delay, eventually gets cancelled and/or subbed to a 320. I'll have popcorn on the ready. Seriously people are paying that much?? The plane has been around for a while now..

I suppose I can put on a BBQ for anyone that wants a mid-week stop off on the Gold Coast ;)

ill have to go back to Melbourne th same day, work the next day.

$89 + seat fee

Maybe that is too much for some :p

Not on the 1st JQ 787 flight but love to know if in May next this beautiful aircraft will be doing SYD/HNL/SYD? as its a guessing game ATM.

Serious question - how many people who refuse to fly JQ have actually flown JQ before?

I never understand what the big deal is. They're a LCC, you get what you pay for and it really isnt that bad.

I don't 'refuse' to fly it, it's just the 'last resort'. Reason? All the usual LCC ones. It's unusual that I can't get a Virgin fare close to the JQ one so it becomes a bit of a no brainer EXCEPT when timing is critical. Then ( shudder) I have flown the Orange Cancer.

But I'm not in any hurry to fly the 787 either. I'll give it a bit longer to get the bugs out if it.

I've already flown on the 787 and I'll be in Vegas that week - so no I won't be on it :)

yes the reaction of some people here to flying JQ is totally absurd. I fly them at least every month or so and find them perfectly adequate! Online check-in, print boarding pass, show up. It couldn't be easier.

Tempting, its now $109 mel-ool now. And mel-dps on 18/12 is $399 for the base ticket.

Adding to this, the fact that for an extra $24 (plus the $30 bundle if so inclined) it availed you to a StarClass seat

Yes, I know it is not true 'J' class, but for a $24-$54 premium no other airline gives you that sort of upgrade opportunity on a flight that has some relevance (regardless of it being JQ, it is the first 787 flight by an Australian carrier and on a domestic sector).

Normally I only fly to JQ if it involves an FLounge visit, however, exceptions are to be made, and all in all, regardless of class of service that you are seated in, it get's you from A to B...

At the end of the day, for me anyway, it is 3 flights, some extra FF points and SC's... and the cost was reasonable

:)

expedia.com.jp is a bit slow in loading the 11:00am flight into their system :

I didn't book in the end, as the return flight was either on JQ or QF for $180

Being in OOL I'd want to spend a few days up there so it would be a $1000 roundtrip!

I don't refuse to fly JQ, I have done so on numerous occasions. For me they are a necessary evil, like dental visits and Pap smears.
FWIW on my last JQ flight, my seat buddy did this:

for the duration of the flight.
However I hope all those on the inaugural trip have a great flight, a great bunch of AFF'ers on there I think.
For myself, I will continue to fly JQ only when I really need to.
