How long does it take for QF FF to refund points for cancelled Award booking?

Hi

We used QF FF points for an Award Booking for my husband and I one way BNE/LHR. I cancelled it on Monday and have already had the taxes & fuel surcharge refunded to my credit card, however I am still waiting on QF to recredit my husband's QF FF account with the 128,000 points less the 10,000 points fee (5,000 points each passenger).

Does anyone know how long it takes for the points to get put back into the QF FF account? Should I be pestering QF already about it or wait another couple of days?

Thanks ejb (you have the same initials as my grandfather which is spooky because he passed away four months ago and I have been thinking about him a lot today. Sorry to get off the track.)

I will leave it until Monday and then if we haven't got the points refunded by then, I will call them!
 
The one time I cancelled a QF award booking the taxes and surcharges were refunded almost immediately but the QFF points took a week to appear back on my QFF account.
 
I must be unlucky, I changed an international flight once and it took over a month for the changes to appear in my QF account.

I also cancelled a domestic award flight in Aug and nothing had happened in over 8 weeks. I had to ring to get the fee's and points refunded (minus the 5k). I had cancelled this flight online and the computer just sat on the transaction and cancelled the flight but left it at that...

Did you cancel the flight over the phone or online? if you did it online it might pay to make a call to get things moving again.
 
Hi. My husband rang them up at the end of last week asking when the points were going to be credited back to his QF FF account and they told him it can take up to six weeks. He then told the person from QF that he couldn't wait that long as we needed to book new flights straight away. Then she put him on hold for three minutes, came back to him and said that she had refunded the points for him immediately! So, with a bit of pushing, they can get it back to you sooner than they say!
