Hi everyone! First time poster here :)

I'm flying on an international QF flight from Sydney and then connecting to a Jetstar Asia flight. The manage booking page on Qantas' website is saying I can't check in online and can only check in at the airport. I have lounge access to want to make the most of it and get there early, but I wanted to check, what's the earliest I can check-in at the airport and drop bags for an international QF flight from Sydney?

Thank you!

Wait … is that not the time that the earliest check-ins open?
You can’t usually check in more than something like 3hrs before your flight can you?
[where the number 3 was made up ‘cos I don’t know what the number is]
Or are you saying that’s changed?
QF offers all day check-in at SYD T1

The current QF website re checkin (under "departures" does not appear to reflect it. Is there anything definitive from the airline about this?
There’s been a few reports here of peeps being declined early checkin so I thought I’d ask.

Flew out a week or so ago on QF75 J (SYD-YVR) that departs at 20:25 (nice timing for dinner in the F Lounge). We checked in at the F checkin just over 4 hrs prior. I asked if “all day checkin” is still happening and told “No, because luggage was going missing”. They suggested it was from 4 hrs but I recall someone else here saying “Or when the flight opens for checkin”.

I pointed out that we were checking in more than 4 hrs….

I have no idea what happens at a kiosk and bag drop.

I did mention this in the general chit chat thread in search of an appropriate thread to flag it. This new one is probably as good as any.

Thanks
I'll assume that it won't be a strict 4hrs and zero minutes but that a 4am check in for an evening departure will be a knockback

I wonder if the bag drop is the same?

I didn't have any problems doing several really early check-ins to spend more than 4 hours in the F-lounge on multiple flights out of SYD throughout this year. Maybe I got lucky, so YMMV

If you’re checking-in at the F counter I reckon you’ve got a much embiggened chance of being allowed to breeze through where mere plebs would be made to wait.
Probably a given 10 years ago; but the way Qantas have reduced their bend-over-backwards for high-spend customers, I reckon it’s wound back to “more likely” these days.

How about checking in flying Qantas overseas? Can you arrive at the airport too early? I'm flying from Tokyo, leaving at 10pm - when's the earliest I can check my bags in?
This may help?

This may help?
Thanks. Problem is there isn't a 'time stated' lol. In my experience, in the absence of earlier Qantas flights operating, they start checking in passengers anywhere from 4 hrs to 3.5 hrs before ...
