Ok so the title might not make too much sense....but does anyone have any suggestions in what to take on a plane that Miss1 can sit in the eat. If I try get her to eat in her seat, food will just end of everywhere or she will try stand up.

Is there anything similar to a high chair as such?

Will be on cx in business.

I'm just watching her eat her lunch now and the thought of her sitting on our laps trying to eat just isn't going to work.

I've googled but can't find anything.....

My dream would be she sleeps the whole way but that ain't going to happen!!!

How old is the child? There are harness straps you can buy that work in economy, and some airlines allow car seats. However, at feeding time, my wife and I stuck with the bottle/cough when an infant, and even as she got older, she shared some of our meals until she was entitled to her own seat. Milk is an ally as it fills up little tummies, and comes powdered. Today at 3, my daughter travels well, still with milk, a little snack like mandarins and bananas, and maybe some lunchbox tiny teddies.

Good luck! At least you don't have to clean up although I always find myself making the area look respectable by picking up the major crumbs and wet wiping the obvious. I'm with here2go. I found its not the time to impose my healthy eating/minimal packaging habits on the kids for the sake of fellow passengers, so they get there yoghurts packaged in those packs that can be sucked, packs of tiny teddy's/dried fruit, etc. The hard part, doing it all in economy, is that tray rests at meal times are hard to combine with kids on laps. You have to get in and feed then before the main meal service and then perform some sort of magic act to consume your own food and grab FAs attention to remove you tray asap.

I recall having our 1yr old standing between our legs and facing us and we attempted to deposit food in his mouth.

Ahhhh good idea!! I think I'll take my own food then. Like you said yogurts in the pouch, and crackers, cheese etc...things that can be eaten while sitting rather than trying to eat a kids meal from the tray like dinner at home (it ends up everywhere all over the floor here!)

When I went 2 years ago miss 2.5 was only 10 months so was happy to just have milk with some snacks and puréed food. This time is a little different.

I'll grab heaps of pouch field and half freeze it I think so it will last at least 15 hours in a cooler bag.

Remember the liquids policy re custards etc.

We travelled with young kids and took snacks that they liked. They aren't going to starve.

I've travelled heaps with my older child and never had issue with liquids for kids.

I did get stopped at Melbourne last time heading to LAX but when I showed him that the water bottles I had were actually baby water pre boiled with a teat he couldn't argue.....

Usually they just scan my baby bag and I have everything in there and they go through. Different story in America where they actually test the water but we aren't doing any internal flights just driving.

My concern was my youngest eating the child's meal but I'll just take my own pre made food in easy to serve and eat pouches.

So how are you going with all your points gathering? Sounds like you got enough to get yourself & family to and from the USA.

I purchased 480,000 points back in Feb with Alaska Air miles then I had the 280,000 Qantas points for the 1 ticket for my husband & infant!

Crazy how it's 120,000 return and $150 in taxes through Alaska but 280,000 points and $800 in taxes through Qantas but that's what this forum is for isn't it!!!

Wish my credit card for transfer to Alaska miles at the same rate it does to Qantas.....
