Early check in/late out: Requested early check-in for 11am, room wasn’t ready, notified we could access at 1pm, though we were out exploring until 3pm anyway. Requested latest possible checkout, told 1pm, but spent the morning at MONA so checked out at 9am and stored luggage instead.

Welcome drink: Yes beer and wine from the bar
Welcome amenity: A bottle of De Bortoli “The Legacy” Brut sparkling


Notes: Really enjoyed this one night stay stay. Room was small but the view over Hobart Harbour was excellent.

Didn’t quite understand the “chocolate hour,” we went down at 3:30pm and there were just two plates of small desserts that weren’t really being served, only a couple of tastes left, didn’t see anything else happening at that time unless we missed it.

Breakfast was excellent, a la carte dining and the buffet were both great, house-made looking granola, fresh squeezed vegetable juice and good espresso coffee.

Welcome amenity was 4 local chocolates and a bottle of The Legacy Brut sparkling, not too bad, though I wouldn’t have more than two glasses of it, it’s a bit of a headache in a bottle.

We’d definitely stay here again.

They do not - the restaurant downstairs is operated by a third party, so no Accor Plus discount either. Lower your expectations for welcome gift/drink as well. Last visit I scored a single can of lemonade.

Fortunately the rooms themselves are pretty nice, and the hotel is on the newer side.

My feedback just sent to pullman BNE airport:

"This used to be an excellent hotel. The online checkin app fell over, followed by insistent email demands I complete it. Not sure why, when I emailed in advance, I couldn't get a midday checkin [i.e. 1 hour late] granted as a platinum member; the response was possibly maybe. Like hello, you're an airport hotel. Never mentioned outcome when we checked in at midnight. Slept through breakfast so can't comment on that. Don't much like the machine checkin either. The negatives are multiplying."

The advance checkin app falling ove happens regularly, in this case offered me a paid upgrade but no button loaded for accept/next. On ipadOs and Android.

This was my second stay at Movenpick Amsterdam and first off its one of the very few Accor properties in Europe with an Executive Lounge (despite it not being advertised anywhere these days). It's located slightly off the restaurante area with free drinks snacks and food offerings during evening. Breakfast time it supposedly has some pastries but it's also heavily policed due to the fact it shares space with the buffet area.

Location wise it's a bit out of the way from MGallery and Sofitel which are in the heart of the city but it's not the worst. If you are taking a cruise it's quite convenient as it's right by the terminal. The worst part of the location is that to get to the main street / station you can't use the bridge next door but have to walk about 7-8 mins around the water - if they had access from the bridge it'd be a lot easier to get to.

On our first stay for a night, I only realised this trip that we got upgraded all the way to their ambassador suite (I thought it was Junior at the time). Quite nice there with a living room and separate bedroom. Very modern Technology although no USB C. This time we just got upgraded to a high floor and executive room although the view was probably better as we were facing the city and had a very nice sunset with the city in the background. (And planes flying right over the sun to land into Schipol).

Overall, It's a strange one - it's very good in many aspects if you could overlook its location. Otherwise MGallery INK is likely the better Accor offering and Sofitel Legends is the top tier. It is however often the same price or cheaper than the Ibis' scattered around Amsterdam Centraal.
