How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

This is unusual. I thought Accor policy was to forgo the bond for Gold and above, or at worst a $1 preauth.
Yeh that seems excessive , 600, however the bonds are still charged at some properties definitely. The 25 hours in Darlinghurst was 100pn even as a platinum.

Is that a policy or just hotel by hotel? I mean I’ve always wondered when checking in that I didn’t have any preauth as plat but a colleague travelling with me did. Once at a mantra in cairns was explained that’s their policy.

Finding it more frequent now @henrus

2 years ago as Gold +, never had to leave cc for pending deposit, now every hotel in Australia and Asia have asked for it.
In Thailand, now Platinum, so far this trip asked for 4000THB ~ AUD 170 and Singapore SGD 100, both dropped off at check out.

It’s up to the hotel, speaking to a few GMs they are incurring shrinkage from the Diamonds who seem to like the linen/pillows etc

I must admit I have an affinity for HIX pillows and took one or two with permission from the GM, then found out they come from a mob 10kms from where I live, mind you they charge $200 a pop

I usually grab the dental kits to hoard, for use on long haul flights.
Also, sometimes, the little shampoo and conditioner bottles (if the hotel still uses those), one of my team members likes to have them for the end-of-trip facilities at work.

Talking of up-market is Raffles Singapore worth it for a bucket list 3 night stay? It would be in January and about 12 hundred +++ a night but I do have about 100K points I could burn which would go a long way to settle the bill. We would top it off with SQ First back to Syd.
So have gone ahead and booked (cancellable) 3 nights in January 27 and was wondering what Platinum benefits they give.
Mainly breakfast and lounge access as eating and drinking is better value than an upgrade from the flashiest room I've ever stayed in.
Thanks Dr Bob
