How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

I personally wouldn't base myself at Haneda for 5 nights in Tokyo.

If the other Accor properties in Tokyo proper are out of budget, look at non Accor...
It is OK for a couple of nights - I suspect the relatively low price compared to other Tokyo area Accor hotels relates to competition around HND. I may have counted no less than 8 hotels in the area that have shuttle buses for HND at the T1 pickup point.

I have a 60 hour stopover in late May - I'm considering some of the cheaper option further out.

(Thinking we need a Tokyo/Japan Accor thread :) )

~soso for what they are. Accor really didn't have much of a presence in Japan until they worked out a deal with Daiwa Ryonet and converted a whole bunch of their stuff to Mercure/ Grand Mercure. Overall i find Accor eh overall in Japan.

They're not bad, but you can do better for value for money and at the same time if you want high end there's better high end too.

Its really if you're wed to Accor and need to stay in Accor then they're alright. I don't think I'd personally directly recommend anything unless its on RHR or you need Accor for whatever reason.
Definitely not wedded to Accor despite being Diamond.
Plenty of other places we have stayed at and chosen non Accor properties if they are the better option

I wouldn't have said i was wedded to Accor but it is always my first place to look, although it's not really a large range and generally not outside the bigger cities much (Besides those converted ones). Since it's my only hotel status, once i combine the platinum/A+ bonuses (Or Stay night) with one of the decent sales, i've generally found the price a lot more reasonable than anywhere else.

Of course saying that, Tokyo prices seem to be getting higher each year and i think the Accor range is lacking a bit more in the middle (for me) so i may branch out and actually spend time looking around. Haneda price just seems pretty reasonable compared but the downside is you're staying on an airport line so the train can be busy at all hours (Or at least it was when we did a quick 2 night stay last year).

Technically no upgrades at Ibis hotels and also same with the welcome amenity.
Interesting - I've almost always gotten upgrades (actually I think every time out of about 15 stays) and this is the first time no amenity for an Ibis Styles. I actually have no idea what the base rooms at the Ibis Styles Brisbane look like because despite always booking it I always get a corner room haha.

Properties will often give upgrades despite the T&C’s
It’s good that you are getting upgrades and good on the properties for offering it

Both the upgrade and welcome amenity have a few exceptions:
