Now I should have booked the suite when I saw it for $260 a few days before but my plans were not firm, looked like a price error which was fixed later 😀

There was rugby on the Saturday I needed to stay so price was a bit higher than usual, overall stay was fine, stormy in Sydney so uber wait was huge, clever me decided to catch the bus because the rain had stopped of course it bucketed down when I’m 100 meters from the entrance, so I was a bit of a drowned rat walking in.

Hotel was packed and I was checking in later so no upgrade, but a higher floor, status recognition an after thought otherwise pleasant enough, girl at the bar gave me free drinks without checking my vouchers, I just mentioned I had them, I didn’t want to get her in trouble so I did ask after the 2nd drink if she needed to check off the vouchers and then she did 🤷‍♂️

Room was nice and quiet, got a good sleep before an early rise.

Breakfast in the restaurant downstairs pretty standard and quiet at just after 6am.

I’m not sure how the Novotel compares but was about $350 for the same night.

Recommend: Yes if it suits. Though personally if I’m in the same area again I’ll try the M Gallery or Movenpick.

Short break with my sister and her husband, she had stayed at this hotel/resort before so I booked for all of us.

It feels like a mix between resort and hotel with a conference space.

Check-in was smooth, pro-active room upgrades for both rooms which was generous.

Rooms are nice aircon works well, bed was firmer than I like but otherwise no complaints.

Housekeeping was in and out every morning while we had breakfast, no matter if it was just after 6 or at nearly 10, so were obviously keeping an eye out.

Platinum gave access to the lounge for breakfast, afternoon tea and evening canapé/coughtails, this was extended to the 2nd room too which was also generous.

Lounge is much quieter at breakfast to the restaurant and just a smaller subset of the same dishes.

It was all above mid/average Thai hotel fare, but excellent staff who learnt your names and preferences quickly.

Hotel was packed with families and couples, so pool and cabanas were packed most of the time, also several conference/group functions, so not a place for a quiet chill.

Not a bad stay, but if we come to this area again I’d try the Movenpick or Mgallery in Jomtien

Welcome drink: 2 vouchers in app, redeemed for mojitos in rooftop bar.
Welcome gift: Yes, fruit, macarons and welcome card.
Recommend: Yes, pretty happy, normally stay Sofitel but it was almost 700 a night when I was booking.

Nice hotel, after arriving and confirming my status was whisked off to the lounge for check-in, convenient really as our upgraded room was at the end of the corridor from the lounge.

Nice welcome, run through the amenities and set loose.

Room was at the end of the corridor, nice and quiet, soft bed 😀, separate bath and shower.

I had the best sleep here, I think I just need a softer bed.

Small issue with the cistern constantly filling but a quick call and maintenance was there to fix.

Hotel does a tuktuk transfer to T21 every 30 mins, so convenient for shopping and access to metro/bts though it’s not to far to walk if you want. So the rest of BKK is at your fingertips, much shopping and eating was done.

Lounge was full at breakfast and evening canapés, but could still get a seat, a nice selection of options, not quite Sofitel but better than the Pullman.

Given the price, this is now a contender in the area for us, but we’ll probably still default to Sofitel when we can.
