Do they have a lounge in T4 seperate to the QF lounge in other terminal?
Of course not. Why would they?

Sorry for the thread necro, but are there airside transfers between T3 and T4? I'm coming into MEL on ZL and am considering connecting with VA instead of QF if I don't have to clear security again. Travelling with carry on only so interline access doesn't bother me.
Nope.
To an earlier question I went through the T3 security that previously accessed ZL etc and ~ 3 VA gates and into T4 so they are connected but T3 has 2 security points.
You have explained it better than me.In essence part of the old T3 has been incorporated in T4.3 VA gates are now really in T4 but still accessed as they were along with ZL and TT.To walk between T3 and T4 you can either leave T3 and then walk along a passageway past the VA lounge that as well as leading to the 'second Ansett wing' built around 1990, now leads (through a security checkpoint) to the T4 terminal or you can go outside into the fresh air and enter T4 from the roadway. Hard perhaps to visualise so I hope that my explanation makes sense.

JQ travellers will benefit from the new bus interchange but QF travellers had better prepare for more shoe leather:
Airport buses - Public Transport Victoria
The public bus stop at Melbourne Airport is located at Terminal 1. Public buses will also operate from the transport hub in Terminal 4 when it opens later this year.
