Due to a very well timed double status credit promo and the need for me to travel to Melbourne from Brisbane weekly during the promo period I have gone from no status back to silver and with two more flights to gold.

We are flying Malaysia to Cambodia and Vietnam in the first week of November. So far, the double status credits have not been appearing in my account in a very timely manner (it does say they can take six to eight weeks!!). With the two flights to be taken before the end of the month I will be well past the number of SCs required to hit gold.

I still don't have the SCs from flights taken in August but some of the ones for September have landed. I'm not sure why accounts can't be tagged to auto generate the bonus credits for period x to y but who knows what system is used.

If by chance they do appear on my account before we depart, how will Malaysia know that my partner and I have the status to access their lounges in KL and HCMC as I won't have the card to show them? If they don't appear, I suppose it's just bad luck?

cheers

Pete

Your status will be on your boarding pass.

True, however sometimes the airline will only check your status when your QFF number is added to the booking. If your elite status changes in the meantime then QF will know, but oneworld partners usually don't.
Once you hit Gold, remove your QFF number from the booking, then re-enter it to refresh your QFF status with MH (you can do this on the RJ or AY sites). I needed to do this recently for a BA booking as I had made Gold after booking and before flying.

Thanks for letting me know A330. I was originally silver/ruby when the booking was made then dropped back to bronze, so it's back to being correct. I'll keep an eye if/when the gold kicks in and update the booking

Would refreshing your QFF number on the BA or MH site have the same effect or do you have to remove it completely and then add it again?
