How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

We have lost status but still treated with a lot of respect at the Parmelia Hilton in Perth. Executive lounge hors d'oeuvres are very tasty.
Only asking out of curiousity; how do you keep Exec lounge access if you have lost your status? :)

Yes, book an executive room. Additional cost of course but with breakfast in the executive lounge it can be worth it. I find the fruits, yoghurt, cereals, nuts, cheese, cold continental, toast, jams, small selection of cakes and, generally about 4 hot choices ample for our tastes.

Learning; and great to know this. Obvious to some I know :)

Property: Hilton Auckland
Status: Gold
Rate: $NZD220
Room booked: King guestroom
Received: King deluxe harbour view
Amenity: I think there was a half bottle of wine but I didn't have a chance to drink it. Got continental breakfast.
Early check-in / late check-out: Not required
Recommend: Yes. Got a corner view room and the breakfast room view is also excellent.

Got a question or two regarding breakfast with Gold membership. It says free breakfast included (and it could be continental). Question is - is the breakfast offered different from the buffet breakfast most Hilton hotels offer?

For the Auckland Hilton the Gold Continental breakfast was all the cold stuff fruit, fruits, cereals, pastries etc in the buffet. They had some seperate Bain maries with hot stuff like baked beans, bacon for Diamond members.

I was wondering how they did that!

At the Doubletree Amsterdam they handed small breakfast cards, a different colour for each status level. A waiter came and took our order based on the card.

On the way out I asked what was in the card for golds (I was platinum at the time)… the response was ‘they're the same, the colour just lets our staff know your status’.

Same in Prague, the only only difference there was that platinums has a small roped off section with sparkling wine.Otherwise same buffet for all.

So in at least some hotels they just give gold/plat the same.

Hilton Lake Taupo they had the breakfast area split with continental and fruits etc on the left and the hot food on the right. Golds got the continental and Diamonds got all plus cooked eggs etc. When you were seated you got given different style plates according to status. You could as a Gold pay I think $15 to upgrade and for memory walk ins was about $30. Staff watched to ensure no shenanigans 🤣
