Just thought I'd create a thread for this - looking back over the last year, I thought I'd done a thread here as well as on Priority Club.

Got some more travel to do to Melbourne this Friday, so hoping to fly down Thursday night to sample the new Hilton.

arrived late into Adelaide about 2 weeks and also received drink vouchers for Collins Bar. Must be some sort of recognition for when the exec lounge is closed

It's a nice thing to do. When I arrived late once to HBNE they sent a bottle of Chandon to my room. When I asked what's the occasion I was told it's a "small compensation" for not being able to use the lounge that night.

Download the Hilton
App log into your account and add your Hilton Honors card to Passbook.
This should more than suffice to show your status.

My status change (correction?) did come through last night from Blue to Gold, and using Passbook for the first time, (thank you Princess Fiona for that tip), presented my new accreditation at the front desk.

All smiles, and yes, "your internet charges will be reversed sir".

So thank you one and all for your advise, and now off to MBK for some retail therapy.

Did you receive the flower Lei, cold towel & welcome drink on arrival?
I enjoyed my stay at this Hilton.
The suite room in the Lotus Wing was very nice & the lounge & staff were very pleasing with a great sunset view from the balcony.
Albeit its an older property, the spacious grounds & proximity to the beach are special.

Bad luck this time. My flight was late into SYD and I only arrived just before 7pm so I knew you won't be there.
My stay was almost identical to yours, I guess premium upgrades were not available last night.
Hope to catch up next time.

Breakfast downstairs is excellent if Golds get it as a bennie.

I haven't stayed at HOTP in some time but a year or two ago breakfast downstairs was no problem as a gold

Breakfast is indeed a benefit for HHG and HHD (albeit technically continental) - although the only place I've heard of this being enforced is the USA.

But to the letter of the rule, it's only a continental breakfast so I wouldn't necessarily make too much noise.

2 bottles of water. No turn down or welcome note - not that I think I have ever had one at ADL.

I had breakfast downstairs and when told of the $5 coffee I declined. I passed on my disappointment when checking out, which I was assured would be passed on.

Sorry to wander OT, but how are people finding Hilton ADL generally?

Used to be my automatic choice, but have noticed it slip down the Tripadvisor ratings from 1 to 14. Booking a 3 night stay with my daughter in May, and 2 connecting rooms at Hilton (will be HH Gold) are $151 each pn, or by comparison a 2 BR apartment at the Mantra Hindmarsh Square is $244.

I quite like it. Will the Mantra give you free breakfast and most likely an upgrade to an executive room?
