Just wanted to pay homage to one of my favourite routes, QF8419 and QF8418 (#EK419 #EK418).

I avoid Qantas, so I use my QF points to fly EK, mostly on QF8418 and QF8419 (which is why I am filing this under "Airlines and their Loyalty Programs, Qantas").

I know from other sources this was a beloved route, so wanted to "Press [Post thread] to pay respects".

Rest in peace, my friend. Qantas points will never be the same for me.

It was a nice way to fly from Sydney to Bangkok, and often good J/F award availability too.

Is this no longer available?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Flew back from BKK in March on EK418. Had 16 seats in Y around me for myself and probably 1 FA for 3 passengers in that section of the plane. I can understand why it was axed TBH

Bump - a few nights ago I met an EK cabin crew member who also knew and loved this flight (it helped she was from Bangkok).

The EK tag flights ex-Australia to South East Asia was a huge points redemption/burner/FF run back in the day.
Combined with plenty of travellers on the cheap (low yield) fares.
