I know by now I should know how to do this :(
But this is the first opportunity I have had to try to use an eVIP. ;) Even if it is for my wife.......

The EXPDesk said that the return flight was not a problem.. But the flight to the USA was waitlisted for the upgrade. (It was c7 up until about a week earlier - still D7 last I checked)

Where (or How) can I check to see that the one flight is actually waitlisted and the other is upgraded. It's a TA issued eTicket ticket and my reservations on AA.com has not changed... Or do I need to call the EXPDesk again?

Help me in my wanderings

I reckon your best bet (given there has been no response here as yet) is to make a humble post on the AAdvantage FT forum.

They'll give you the good oil ;)

... (perhaps some vineger as well, but oil and vinegar can make a nice salad dressing ... :p )

I don't know about being able to see waitlisted requests, however once cleared, the booking should show as business class on the AA site when you check the booking and you should be able to select your seat

Thanks both of you

Given the upgrade does not show on aa.com
it's time for another call to the EXP desk.

Happy wandering
Fred

There is no way to see waitlisted eVIP upgrades. You will have to just keep calling the EXP desk if you want to reassure yourself.

On the other hand, I would also try and call back and get another agent and ask for her to make a RevMan request - there are posts on FT which assure others that there is either extra C availability which EXP agents can see which don't even show up on GDSs/EF or that they can make the request to Rev Man and get one opened for you - especially if it's D7.
