I have a fair bit of international travel comming up over the next 24 months specially in Asia & HK & Singapore in particular.

I am looking for a good Hotel Frequent Guest Program...as I work for myself I do not always stay at the Park Hyatt but if the program is reasonable the Hilton ,Marriott or Sheraton are possibilities.

I usually pay with my with my Qantas AM EX Ultimate Card to get the max in ff points.

Are there any recomendations out there?

Really depends on the cities. You mention Singapore and Hong Kong. What other cities in Asia? Also depends on what you want out of your program. Are you looking for in-house benefits like free breakfast, upgrades, free movies, amenities, club/lounge access etc, or just free stays?

Priority Club is certainly worth looking into in addition to those you have already identified.

I could be a little biased, but I would be pushing the Priority Club Rewards program, as you would also be able to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points, for your stays globally at InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels. Plus if you were paying with your QF AMEX card you could effectifly be double dipping on your hotel stay points for loyalty, plus points for paying. Hook up to one of the great promotions that Priority Club rewards offers and you could be earning even more points.. You just need to then be able to burn you points then on QF.

Could luck on making a selection...

NM...The other City's would be KL, TPE & BK.

Free stays would be nice but I was thinking of upgrades to club floors...Free breakfasts discounted laundry etc.

How many stays/nights in a year?

In my experience Hiltons in the region freely give out upgrades except when the hotel is full, to both Gold and Diamond status.

Yep, Hilton gave me upgraded room etc, and my status was given as well, after your first stay or 2 they seem to send you a new Diamond card and try and entice you to stay with them more.

I am looking at around 30 nights per year...it looks as though its a choice between Priority Club for the FF opportunities or something like the Hilton for upgrades etc.

Has anyone had expeirence with Marriott?

I use Marriott when in China, for me i tend to choose the hotels i like or are close to work or are allowed to stay at, so in Singapore i am only allowed to stay at the Holiday-Inn, in Malaysia i stay at the PJ Hilton (the good rooms), in China i stay at the Marriott where i am working.

I guess if i wanted to max my points then i would choose one, but i have different prioritys, i still use my CC to collect points for FF scheme.
So i guess i am saying if youcan choose one thats great but you probably wont know until you stay at some hotels and see if you like them.

Hilton also allows double dipping airline points/miles. You have a choice of earning extra HH points or airline miles.

PC are pretty good at providing upgrades. Hilton are good for free breakfast. PC award stays are generally better value than HH.

Which program offers free movies? And at what stauts level?

Some hotels offer it as a promotion from time to time. Sometimes it comes with Exec/Club floor rooms, which can be available as upgrades to elite members. Sometimes they are available as award redemptions via vouchers using points.

Yup - you have My Way choice of extra HH points, or get standard HH points plus airline miles. On some airlines the HH double dip is rather generous. Even more so when they have double/triple points and miles promos.

At least one program does for their top tier elite. I think (not sure) it is Intercontinenral Royal Ambassador (which also comes with free daily mini-bar - yes the whole mini-bar not pick one item)?

Personally I value some of the other status benefits more highly. With HHonors Diamond I get upgrade rooms (almost everywhere), extra points (as standard plus additional ones in My Way hotel amenity selection) and these multiply up with double/triple promos, lounge access, free breakfast, happy hour drinks and nibbles (almost everywhere), most likely early check in / late check out (depends on availability), ability to get awards even from full hotels, ability to get paid room even from full hotels, discounted long stay awards, etc.

I'm going to miss these benefits when I lose the status.

Ambassador level gets one free movie per stay at Intercontinental hotels. Not sure if Royal Ambassador gets any more (they get the free mini-bar ) )

Thanks, I will keep that in mind. Only 18,000+ points or 13 nights to get to Gold and then....

Priority Club Gold or Platinum does not get you IC Ambassador benefits. That has to be earned or purchased separately. The Ambassador status does show on your Gold or Platinum PC card.

There is a promotion going on during May for stay 3 nights at IC and get Ambassador status for 12 months. I got my Ambassador status with the same promotion last year, but have not stayed at an IC since then. Have 4 nights coming up in June though.

IIRC it can also be gifted.
Royal Ambassador can be gifted (or have a nomination recommended). But I was not aware Ambassador status can be gifted. It can be purchased for US$150. So I suppose if someone paid for you then that would be gifted? What is the payment for the "gift" process? Is is PC points?

I am just planning my trips to the UK and Asia (1 week Beijing, 2 night Tokyo, 3 nights SHanghai followed by two lots of 14 nights in HKG) and I have been booked into the London Hilton Metropole for almost three weeks so I think I now know which program I will be going with...

Just need to check where Hilton type hotels are in relation to our offices in Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai...

Have you been doing the Hilton shuffle? For most (ie not paying exorbitant room rates) the fastest way to status is through stays not nights.
