Hotel bookings~

Hey all,

My partner and I are venturing out to Italy and Asia start of next year and were looking at the hotels - Most hotels and chains have offers until Dec 2009.

Is there a time when new offers come out that will be suitable for Jan 2010? Or should we book as soon as possible to avoid missing out the advance purchase rates!

Being of a Type A personality most of our trips are planned 12 months in advance.What I do is book a rate that can be cancelled without penalty that I am happy with.I then regularly check for changes.If no specials then at about the 30 day mark often switch to a prepaid rate as long as it is significantly cheaper.
