Hotel Bookings via Qantas.com - possible to double dip?

Hotel bookings made via Qantas.com earn 3 Points per dollar spent.

An upcoming stay in a Novotel, when credited to Le Club Accor will earn me 8 points per dollar spent, which would then convert 1:1 to QFF points.

Is it possible to make the booking via Qantas.com to get the 3 points per dollar and then call the hotel and ask them to add my Accor number to the booking to earn points on the stay, ending up with 11 points per dollar spent.

Or am I being too optimistic?

You can ask them to add the number if they can find the reservation, but it's very unlikely you'd be able to double-dip as such... you'd be paying Qantas, and not the Novotel - so QF would award you points on that spend, and not Novotel
