Hong Kong lounge

Prior to boarding QF30 just had a good 6 hours in the Cathay Pier First Lounge at Gate ~65 after initially checking the Qantas lounge immediately next to security/exit in Hong Kong. Excellent service from Victor the barman willing to make any coughtail requested. Showers clean, staff discreet, massage service offered and kitchen offering was good. Lounge not too busy on a Thursday night either. Well worth the effort of going there even though the Qantas lounge looked very nice and bright.

oneworld benefits (e.g. access CX or QF lounges) apply to"when departing on any flight marketed and operated by any oneworld member airline, regardless of cabin class being flown".

If it was QF flight number (codeshare), I would think you could enter the QF lounge. But I don't think you'd enter the CX lounges.

Looks like it'd be Plaza Premium lounges. Please correct me if this is incorrect :)

We used Plaza Premium Lounges last month (KLM flights) - pretty average.
As they also have paid entry, they can get busy/crowded.
When it got very busy, staff arranged (with a phone call) for us to go to PPF - better options, but no views.
I was happy to spend some time stretching my legs and exploring airline as we had 5 hour layover.

YouTube can give you a bit of an overview - I'd keep expectations on the low side @Aggi šŸ˜‰

I wonder if Skyteam has any plans to reopen their lounge in HKG. Isnā€˜t it siting right around Gate 5? Always a reminder when heading to the Deck, or looking over from the QF lounge.

on a side note, the Skyteam lounge in SYD is more or less the same as the Plaza Premium lounge next door. The same catering team is behind both, plus the AMEX lounge in SYD.

I did ask and don't think any plans to reopen Skyteam @andytheturtle according to KLM.
Did enjoy our time in the Crown Lounge at Schipol though!Screenshot_20231029_142913_Gallery.jpg
