I will be travelling up to HK in early November for Business - trade fair, and a couple of days to see the sights and people...

My major location will be the Expo centre in HK - I am looking to stay in Mong Kock or Tsim Sha Tsui. Does anyone have a recommendation for a reasonable 3 or 4 star hotel in this area?

Also, are there any good walking trails, non-shopping in the HK Area - I've been to HK in the early 2000's and would like to see more than the markets & bustling hordes of people...

Thanks.

Club floors in many hotels are the go for the food and booze.

You will find most rooms very small.

A day out to Macau, the tram to the Peak come to mind. Plenty of hills to walk up on HK itself.

Get a Mass Transit Ticket on way in at airport, use on trains, ferries and busses. The train to the city is a different ticket though.

Often there are 2 trade fairs in HKG at same time each month, the one at the airport by Global Sources is huge and easier to navigate due to being one level.

Catch the ferry from central down to Lamma Is and do the family trail walk. A great way to escape the hustle and bustle for a few hours and have a nice seafood lunch at one of the many options.

A cab ride from Mong Kok will take you to Kam Shan Country Park (aka Monkey Mountain). Lots of good trails around the reservoirs and mountains but not too far out of the way at the back of Kowloon.

Loved our day out on Lamma.

Enjoy Cosmoprof, the Langham is a good property to stay at and if not already a member, enroll in their 1865 membership program. You can get some decent benefits after a reasonably low number of nights.
