This is in light of recent news of the AUS-HK bilateral increased to 84 flights per week on both sides.

Also HX returning to full-time long haul after a few years of being largely a short haul/regional international carrier.

It would help HX greatly if their one time codeshare partners VA would codeshare on their services, but with VA's pending ownership structure changes, this seems to be unlikely leaving HX on their own against the QF/CX duopoly.

They’re operating seasonal OOL services at present. We used them back during XMas 2017 when they flew via CNS to HKG.IMG_1467.jpeg

Markis10jr didn’t like the lack of air jets in J, subsequently was airsick an hour out of hk, we arrived at a remote stand and bussed to terminal where we waited 90 minutes for baggage to get him some fresh clothes. He was never more keen for a shower when we got to the Novotel! First trip in J with dad certainly was memorable, and the smile was soon back.

I wonder how happy Cathay is about this, taking some of the AU flight slots to SYD/MEL/PER/BNE (limited under the air service agreement) that CX had maxed out prior to covid.

What can CX do anyway? I think they don't have enough aircraft and pilot. They haven't reinstated ADL flights yet .....
