Obviously there may be job impacts of this but overall I have no issue with this. I don't go to the airport for interaction - I go to get somewhere - I have little enough time to spend with friends - I don't need to make new friends with the people (pax and employees) at the airport.
 
This has been done before, although I do agree with the fact that airports will one day be only pax and equipment technicians... Shop staff have a potential limited life, how long before their role is outsourced to vending machine?
