NZ: Wellington, City Centre and On Avon Christchurch

Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts | 3-Day Sale

Thanks for the heads up Edison...Will see if I can get my HI room at the Melbourne airport...

Do you know when the stays are valid to ? ie July - Sep 08 perhaps ?

cheers

Just read it again ..... valid for stays between 4/7/08 - 31/08/08. Can also be booked via phone (137399), and must pre-pay in full at time of booking.

Probably not as good as the Crowne Plaza one but the variety of destinations is definitely a big plus.

I am looking at the Old Sydney HI closely. Probably best value.

However the flyer did say "FROM $99" ...... So it could be anything .....

I need 1 more stay in Q3 promotion to qualify for 10,000 bonus points and more than likely PC Platinum again.

Interesting to see if HI Gold Coast, HI Townsville or HI Brisbane will have that rate. Stuck in Brisbane for public holiday on August 13 so may as well go somewhere.

Interesting that HI Gold Coast is showing $120 for night of August 12 so may book that now anyway....

I've just booked the HI Old Sydney for $129. The sale seems to have started early. Either that or I've jumped the gun and I'll kick myself when it shows up on the 4th for $99. At $129 I'm happy anyway.

From the link in the OP:

"You are early, please come back soon!

Thank you for your interest in Holiday Inn’s 3 Day Sale. As our sale has not yet started kindly return to this website on Friday 4th July 12.01am when the sale commences to enjoy great savings".

Sounds like you have a pretty good price anyway!!

That's the same message I got but when I proceeded with the reservation it came up as "Winter 3 Day Sale" which is why I think it's a glitch and the sale has started prematurely. Either way, as I said, I'm happy.

I did a spot check of the other hotels, and none of them were returning winter sale rates, so it seems isolated to that one hotel.

Curious to know how PCR and PP members get a better deal out this sale, with the sale going live a day earlier to the public. Looks like it was meant to be a closed marketing campaign for the PCR and PP members with a 24 hour head start, but from what I can see this morning its very wide open to everyone.

The sale was open for everyone from midnight last night, while I booked yesterday for $99, interestingly the same room was bookable on the website by anyone under the 3 day sale category, but it was $30 dearer on Wednesday!

I goofed:oops: I could have booked the same room for $99 this morning:(.

There are 2 "Winter 3 day sale rates" for the hotels. $99 (only searchable via the links above), and seemingly $129 at some hotels if you do the normal search.

I also noticed with HI Brisbane that one night the room is available for $99, the next night it is available for $129 and the next night is very expensive.
