Since all 3 QF ex HKG services depart around 8pm, does that mean check-in at the airport only opens late afternoon? I'm well aware of in-town check in at HK and Kowloon Stations, but I'm in a part of HK where it is easier and cheaper to take the bus to the airport. Will someone be there to check me in if I arrive at say 2pm for the 7.45pm SYD departure to leave enough time for The Wing and the new Bridge lounge?

I last checked in at the airport four years ago, but at that time they opened only about three hours before the first departure. I found out the hard way.
Still plenty of time to try the lounges though.

I was in a similar situation last year.
First and last time I ever do check in at HKG Airport.

Complete chaos.

Save yourself the hassle....

Check in is only open at T-3 at the airport.

One I found myself at HKG 6 hours before my flight to discover I had three hours before check in opened.

I did a day return on the airport express (same cost as a one way) to use ITCI.

I was back within an hour ...

.... to leave enough time for The Wing and the new Bridge lounge?

A bit off topic. Apologies

Isn't the Wing good enough to entertain you ?

Or you just want to sample the Bridge ?

In other words, what CX lounge in HKG should a WP (QF flight) spend time in?

I thought the Wing 'has it'

Your thoughts ?

The Cabana Rooms at The Wing were certainly good enough for Mrs 11 to "Oooh and Aahhh" sufficiently (and for me to ask if this partially made up for the numerous PER-PBO-PER daytrips that constituted the bulk of my WP status of the last two years). Especially given it was after the sit down lunch. However I would suggest it sounds like some lounge hopping will take place. Good on the OP.:D

That would depend on your needs and where your next flight departs if you are in transit.

For me personally I like the desktops in the Wing/Pier, smoked salmon from the Cabin, drink in the long bar in the Cabin, roast lamb/steak/smoked salmon from the restaurant in the Pier F lounge.

Think t-4 was ok before qf128 last Sunday (perhaps as it's an a380 service? )
