I'm just seeking advice on a HKG connection. I was originally planning to train from Beijing to HKG, which needed a night in hongkong.

I'm now flight CX scheduled to land at 17:25, in business class.
What are the thoughts about connecting to the QF flight to MEL at scheduled for 20:05?

Both flights are on separate PNR.

Good idea, bad idea. Is 2 hours 40 connection too short? I assume I will need to clear immigration and collect luggage.

I might be able to do this hand luggage only.

CX - QF should be able to be checked through even on separate PNRs. 2.5h is more than enough at HKG if its checked through.

The other option of course if you havent booked is CX105 which departs around midnight.
