Hilton arre the worst for SHUBS highest likelihood of a sub if any brand . Mecure poor quality with un-needed kitchenette, i avoid them.

Novotel can be hit and mis if yoy arrive lare niggt yiy can cop the dreaded accessible room with icky shiwer curtain.

in NYC the Indigos are great rooms not shoeboxes and in cool parts if the city like LES not the zoo that is Times Square.

Ive yet tlo be dissapointed by an Indigo and have stayed at them in US, UK, Finland.

That said i look at individual properties and if no IHG or Accor properties work for me room/amenity/price/location wise im happy to book other brands. My preferred hotel in New Orleans and Dublin are both independent and kick butt iver the chains near by.

I will post a review on the usual thread after check out but there was no bacon at breakfast just inedible sausages.

My suite is so so cold and no matter what temp you put on the aircon its freezer like. Lobby is a comfy 23C room, room feels like its 12C.

Depends how you read it..
I read it as bookings whether made in the post or tomorrow will still have free breakfast to 29 April, then it will presumably shift to a la carte..
Would have been better if it was bookings for stays until xx_.

But as HIX is a lower standard than a HI,

I've always seem them as similar level, just HIX has a free (very cheap) breakfast. And presumably HI & Suites has to have some premium rooms.

I have never had a cold room there, on the eastern facing rooms they tend to be warm. You were warned about the bacon. I will ask the GM about some turkey bacon for you.

I am sure you will get your free breakfast, not sure you will get bacon as it does not feature everyday.

Turkey bacon is revolting. I stayed 4 nights at HIX Queenstown earlier this year and they had real bacon every day, always eight hot dishes in total, so that was my expectation.

Ive never been so cold in a hotel room, they said they reset the aircon but it has not helped.

I agree Turkey bacon is not good, just done 4 days in Malaysia. Your expectation of 8 hot dishes is the exception rather than the rule, I have had 30 different HIX stays and I am yet to see one with 8 hot dishes, I have now 31 tomorrow and they may well be another exception. the HIX Newcastle mixes up their dishes on the day, otherwise most are so so. I am hoping the changes see breakfast improved, but I am also tempted to go for a walk across the road, pity the Japanese all you can eat doesn’t do brekkie.

Does the Japanese place only do all you can eat? Or can you just order a single meal? I was tempted to go there tonight but i just wanted a light meal.

The cafe across the road is closed tomorrow (Anzac day), but i had a lovely coffee there this morning. No idea how far i will have to walk to find a cafe open tomorrow, the shopping centre is closed except for the cinema.

HIX Queenstown had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potato gems or hash browns (depended on day), grilled tomato, mushrooms, fried rice and stirfry veggies. But its being renovated into an Indigo.
