Hilton to take over former Versace site on the gold coast

Hilton’s LXR Hotels and Resorts will make its Australian debut in 2027 following a new signing of the hotel previously known as Palazzo Versace and currently operating as The Imperial Hotel.

The signing with hotel owner Islander Hotel Trading Pty Ltd will introduce LXR as a 200-key hotel in early 2027 after a renovation, and marks a milestone in Hilton’s expansion in Australia.

Good fit for the site - this should be transformed into a flagship luxury property on the Gold Coast once again.

It wouldn’t surprise me if it became a Hilton - probably Conrad

I think Accor is less likely, they have so many properties in the area (there’s practically a Mantra on every block) - at this point they’re just cannibalising their own marketshare.

Interesting that Hilton was the only chain named in the article.
