Hilton Parmelia Perth Reopening Delayed until February 2021

I have just had an email from the Group Reservations manager to say that they will not be reopening until February 2021 after initially planning to open in November 2020.

They have offered to move our November reservation to the Doubletree in Northbridge but this is not suitable for us for this stay.

While I perfectly understand the reasoning for the delay and am sympathetic, am I wrong in thinking that some other sort of resolution should be offered particularily as a Diamond?

Another victim of WA's controversial border closures....

Is there any other Hilton property in WA they can offer you? If not, then I think they've done what could be reasonably expected of them. You could write a letter to the WA government about their borders

Is it too much to ask that the Parmelia Hilton get a refurb with lounge.
I can dream obviously.

Not too much to ask. Lounge was planned as part of a refurb this year.

The Doubletree Waterfront is built but isn't opened yet, so DT Northbridge is it for PER at the moment.

I don't want to get into any pro/anti border closure arguments here as it isn't the place.

This however feels like a 'walk' without any real attempt at service recovery or compensation.

I have booked the Como anyway as I have been keen to try it and the Amex trave and statement credit made it more reasonable in price.

We put alot of our people in the Como and hear great things. We moved to them from Crown as had lots of people complaining about the Crown hotels.
