There’s a new Amex offer, spend $500 get back $80. Valid at most Asia/Pacific Hiltons in the list below. Not as good as the $200 back they’ve done previously but better than nothing.

Yes, we got offered a suite from the baseroom and lounge access when we stayed in December last year (HH Diamond)

The dates you have are at the end of the Melbourne Cup carnival. I stayed there last year over the same time frame. While the chance of getting an upgrade for the date of the actual race are fairly remote, as they should be full, there is a better chance for the dates you've picked. Last year as a diamond I was upgrades to an executive king. A suite was a bridge too far.

Long time stayer at DoubleTree Flinders St Melbourne but I had issues trying to book online for 5 nites as Hilton system would only allow max 2 days booking. Ended up having to make a phone booking and they couldn't explain the fault.
