Has anyone been successful in finding dates that this Extend Your Escape promotion applies to?

So far I've tried about 5 differing dates at Melbourne (South Wharf and On the Park), Sydney and Gold Coast (was thinking of trying the brand newie in Surfers).

So far 100% states Extended Escape not available on dates selected.

I'm looking within the date range outlined on the web and seem to meet criteria so what gives? Have they allocated just one room between now and New Years for this promo????

I have also tried to get dates at South Wharf and New Zealand and like you, have had no success. Might be worth a phone call to Hilton....

Tried a phone call to reservations at South Wharf to no avail (they can't find dates either, or they aren't interested) but I have sent an email last night. I'll post back if any decent reply comes through.

That person, whoever they are, are doing their hotel a real service. I read a great deal of that thread on FT and a couple of weeks later had an extended stay at the HSW - many of the nice small touches mentioned in the FT thread have actually been implemented.

Truly amaizing and a great stay.

I tried too, unsuccessfully. Maybe it hasn't loaded properly yet...

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Arrived home to find an email from HSW Guest Services which stated simply:

I have had a look and unfortunately the Extended Escapes promotion is not available for the dates your after. Only the best available rate is available which is what you are seeing on the internet.

I'm not quite sure why they run a promotion that no one can book

This comes hot on the heels of me trying to book a 2 B/room apartment at HSW a few weeks ago, to find one rate in the morning, but when trying to book on-line, the site malfunctioned and all Hiltons and HH were unable to book or even view availablity for the rest of the day. When I rang reverations directly, they too said they were unable to book because of a "glitch". Next morning, when the site was up again, the rates had increased $100 per night. I emailed and later rang to have a gripe about it to them and the reply was too bad, the "advance purchase" fares are no longer available for those nights. I told them they were available when I wanted to book, except a Hilton computer glitch made that impossible and could they agree to sell the nights at that rate as it was their issue not mine. The Guest services lady consulted higher up and the answer was a resounding NO.

So now this is twice I've tried to book HSW to no avail. The first time, the 2 nights were setting me back just under $1000 and the second about $300 (although that's only a guess as I can't even find a date to show me the promo fare.

Must be a bloody confident hotel chain to knock back $1300 or so for 3 nights in the space of a month from just one client! They do have rooms available on all nights I want, but they are at full rates, which I won't pay. To say, I'm beginning to think the comped HH gold was perhaps an unwise choice, is an understatement.

Intriguing.

They obviously have some seriously well booked nights. I always compare HSW with Hilton on the Park. Most times they are comparable but occasionally one or the other is just way off the planet.

I suggest you have a look at Hilton on the Park.

I have tried Hilton Bangkok and Hilton Hua Hin and there is no availability on the dates I searched.

'Please note that the Extended Escapes rate you requested was not available. Available rates are displayed below.'

Thanks Bill. I've tried both HOTP and HSW, no luck. I'm wondering if they are still having issues with their computer booking system.

The "Extend your Escapes" promotion can be booked on wotif.com

Still not showing on Hilton website. Called reservation yesterday and was simply told by the person on the phone that "just book on wotif.com". Great customer service!

No points, stays or nights awarded to HH if you book on Wotif!

EDIT: Might also mention, I've scrapped Hilton from my options. I'm annoyed I chose to waste my gold status match with them, but I'm not interested in playing games with a spot to sleep. Hilton have just lost $1300 or so for 3 nights from me this time (already booked Docklands Private Collection Apartments for a fraction of the Hilton rates, with breakfact pack and a bottle of wine off Wotif) and God only knows how much in future. Not good business management in my eyes especially when they had rooms available on each of the nights I was trying to secure. Goodbye Hilton, I doubt I'll miss you.

I guess I did go through the same process as you and got really angry with the person on the phone. I asked her about the "Best Rate Guarantee", she told me Hilton does not offer such. I told her it is displayed on their website, she then told me that she cannot access the Hilton Website and that her understanding of "Best Rate Guarantee" means Best Available Rate on their website.

I've set expectations on myself (fairly recently I might add), where I'm trying to remove unnecessary stress from all parts of my life. "Debating" with airlines and hotels about false expectations is not something I'm particularly interested in any more. There are a ton of accomodation houses hoping you'll stay with them and share your money and will give a good deal. If Hilton have such strict policies and offer "deals" that don't really exist, then that's their problem to which I've no interest in making my problem.

I agree with what you said. Just to give you a bit of an update, I called reservation and then asked to be transferred to the local reservation team. Spoke to a really nice lady and she admitted that there is a system issue and that's why the rate is not loaded on their system. She however, offered to match the price on wotif.

I know that doesn't help you now but I guess it might be worthwhile next time to ask to be transferred to the local reservation team.

Swanning-it, I was in exactly your shoe before and shared the same thoughts. However, after speaking to the local reservation team and the lovely lady who helped me out with my reservation, I am very pleased now. Not only was she very helpful, the extra touches that she put on was absolutely amazing. Not to mention that I received a confirmed complimentary upgrade which was simply unexpected. I am not too sure whether I can name her here, but if she is reading AFF, she knows who she is. Well done!!!!!!!!!

Good to hear they (finally) looked after you. Congrats on your tenacity. As for me, two emails and one telephone call still did zip so I call that pretty definite.

I'm not a member of Flyertalk (waste too much time on AFF as it is ) so I can rule out the PM to the rep. In any case, it shouldn't be the reps job to sort out the short comings of HSW Guest Services and in fact Hilton SW policies and attitudes.......actually, why is it their attitude? They have their policies which they are entitled to stick by. I, on the other hand, have the cash which I'm entitled to spend with whoever I so chose. Which actually, is pretty much what has happened. No stress, no problem!

In any case, I'm sure we'll enjoy Docklands just as much and I'll certainly enjoy spending the resultant accomodation savings, on my family (which pays for more than a couple of very nice lunches and dinners, so MEL fine restaurants, here we come ;)).

Today I received another email for this promo and I still cannot find availability at HSW. I have not tried every day combination, just most :!: :(

You're lucky - I have not even received an email.

What's the Hilton "Extend Your Escapes" Promotion?
