The last few times I have been in QF dom J, I have been impressed by the standard of the food provided. What do others think?

It's interesting because it's my perception that the food quality in QF Y has been deteriorating to match the low standard set by the competition, and also that the food in QF international J can be underwhelming despite the NP hype, particularly on flights heading towards Australia.

Which ports are you flying from, it makes a significant difference, for instance ex TSV I find a much better offering for Breakfast than ex BNE.

I really enjoyed the chicken, fetta and preserved lemon salad that I had on Monday at lunchtime. The other choice was sausages and mash which lots of the blokes on board seemed to be enjoying with some cab sav.

On a mid afternoon flight a while ago I had soup, bread (not sourdough :) ) and dessert all of which I thought was good.

I find it reasonably ok. Definitely room for improvement

Breakfast is usually ex ADL. Return flights are usually after 12 noon and could be from any of SYD, MEL, BNE and less often CBR, OOL or DRW.

I enjoyed the breakfast ex MEL on Sunday

For me, every time I get an upgrade to J Dom I'm disappointed with the food.
Although they did improve over the years I think they can do much better.

I do enjoy the wines and coffee in J. The coffee that is served in Y is very bad IMHO.

I enjoy the meals, wine and service in QF domestic J. Not to exclude international, but dom is better pound-for-pound.

Mainly fly HBA-MEL-SYD and combinations thereof.

Yeah quite often when I upgrade they tell me "catering not assured", and when the food comes I understand why! ;)

Give me an upgrade to business every now and then with a pie and a couple of beers and I am a happy man. ;)

Served today on QF528 (SYD-BNE)......tasted pretty good.

You guys shouldn't complain - I flew VA J last week BNE to MEL and all i could get was a Luke Mangan inspired capsicum sandwich:( (a Qantas pie would have been gourmet by comparison :)). I'm not sure how they did it, but VA ran out of J food and the guy next to me had to get a sandwich from economy. Would have loved to get those snags that amaroo had above, could have put those in Luke Mangan's sandwich to "inspire" some flavor.

Groundhog this was a tasty start to my working week;)

It's actually not coffee. I'm not sure what it is, but they shouldn't be allowed to call it coffee. Someone should report it to the ACCC.

Back on topic, the thing that disappoints me in J is when there's only one choice and it's fish. I don't eat fish. There are loads of people who don't eat fish. If they are only going to offer one choice it should be something else (probably chicken as there are people who don't eat beef and people who don't eat pork for religious reasons).

Flying CBR-MEL at lunchtime recently the only option was smoked salmon salad. Luckily I wasn't terribly hungry.
