Hi there,
I'm a reasonably frequent traveller from Australia (Brisbane). We mostly travel to Europe to see family and usually have at least one child in tow. Looking forward to finding out a bit more about airlines and frequent flyer programs. Hopefully I can also offer some advice of my own as I previously worked in the travel industry.
:D

Hi and welcome barneynorman :)

Stick around and you'll be right.

What part of travel industry, if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you all for your kind words. We've decided on some dates now, where's the best spot to post my enquiries?

Is anyone around to give me some advice? Is that right that I can't post a request for assistance until I've been a member for 30 days?
I'd really like to make a booking quickly as we're flying over the Christmas period. Anyone?
Thanks in advance!

I believe there is a formal thread for requesting specific assistance, and I THINK there is some sort of obligation to offer 'compensation' for that help (if you find the thread, it'll no doubt spell this out). That might be the 30 day one.

EDIT: yes, this is the specific thread: http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/flight-search-assistance/posting-guidelines-please-read-before-37856.html and there is a 30 day qualifying period.

But I can't see why you can't post - under "Your Questions" for instance - general questions seeking tips etc for a journey. Or if its with a specific airline, post under that airline's thread.

Find the specific help thread, and hopefully in the early posts there are specific instructions. or look at a general post.

Good luck

Thanks Roo Flyer, there has been a thread started for me in the QFF section. I'm happy to give some compensation, just have to find out how it all works.
