.Is it better to buy or use points to get economy tickets and then upgrade using points? Or it doesn't matter? What's the best way to get business class using points

As the others said best to go for a business award outright. Points upgrade s are never guaranteed. A higher status member decides to try for an upgrade or someone buds a business sest then no upgrade.

Thank you all for your knowledge. Makes alot of sense. But thoughts on getting business awards flights is not easy, I seem to get classic awards only and business is never available with qantas
