Points and Money Rewards - FlyerTalk Forums

With new Points & Money Rewards, you can redeem points more quickly than with our Standard Room Rewards. This is because if you don't have enough Hilton HHonors™ points to book a room using Standard Room Rewards, or simply if you prefer to use fewer points, then you can combine points with money to book a standard room. Availability of Points & Money Rewards varies by participating hotels and stay dates at time of booking.

Points & Money Rewards Redemption Table
Hotel Category Points & Money Rewards
1 Unavailable
2 6,250 Pts + US$30
3 12,250 Pts + US$40
4 15,000 Pts + US$50
5 17,500 Pts + US$60
6 20,000 Pts + US$70
7 25,000 Pts + US$85

Not bad rates...

These rates are quite good.

I have been looking at staying 1 night in Hua Hin in a couple of weeks and the cheapest room rate is ~AUD200/night where as a points + pay reward is available at 15,000 HH points and THB1,507. Seems good value to me and even better value with the current promotion of 30% HH points back for award stays.

Can anyone confirm if these award bookings count as a stay?

I cannot confirm that - have come across no anecdotes one way or the other.

They can be good (or horrendous) value in relation to standard reward stays.

Maybe if you book one, you can report back. :p

Yes they do. I've even done it.

Good stuff ... !

Has such stay/night credit earning been consistent? (Not HHonors point earning)

Hilton HHonors® - FAQ
Maintaining Your Elite Tier
Once the Member has reached a certain Elite tier, the Member may keep such status for the calendar year in which the Elite tier was earned and the subsequent calendar year. Documentation (as defined in item #17 of Accrual of Points) must be furnished within 90 days of stay in order to count toward tier-level qualification. Your reward stays count toward Elite tier qualification. And HHonors Elite members will receive the Elite point bonus on Base Points earned for incidental spending during HHonors hotel reward stays. It all adds up to putting you on a faster track to enjoying exclusive Elite privileges!

I stayed on a points and money reward and it counted as a stay, but I earned no points. Just one use of points and money so far though...

I've just managed to book three places for this, HOTP Melb for a couple nights for 66 bucks and 20,000 points p/n, Hilton CDG for 35 euros and 15,000 points p/n and Conrad Dublin, the princely sum of 59 euros and 25,000 points p/n, and i'll get 30% points back on them, thought this was amazing value.

Noticed good availability in Thailand for the deals at various hotels as well but couldn't find it for Conrad in Singapore for my dates but Hilton came up, and none for Hilton Belfast, but... I sure won't complain.

No availability for Hilton Syd or HSW in Melb, but HOTP had lots of them there.

Booked 5 nights in London for April. 25k pn + 50 GBPs/n. Which I think is excellent use of points for what what would otherwise be AUD$400+ / night!

Also qualified for the 30% back and hoping for a nice Diamond upgrade surprise (but it is London, so anything is possible.....).

Will report back.

Hi JohnK, I'll try not to derail the thread completely, but can I ask, how are you getting from presumably BKK international to Hua Hin? Train? Taxi? Limo? I'm trying to find a way there myself and don't much fancy the 3.5 hour car trip from BKK. Seems like HHQ has been closed to air traffic since 2009.

Booked 4 nights from June 22nd at the New York Hilton Millenium, 25,000 points + $85 pn..very nice (plus qualifying for the 30% back promo...)

Just booked 10 nights at Fiji Resort Hilton in June for 17500 points per night + 107.40 FJD. With the 30% points back promotion that's 122,500 points + $1007 FJD for 10 nights in a beachfront studio.

The alternative was 26,000 points per night = 260,000 points, or best rate $509 FJD. The 140,000 HH points we've held on to this way are worth more (3 - 4 award stays)than $1007 FJD.

I submitted a request for nor1 upgrade to a 2br apt (traveling with wife and toddler G) for $299 FJD a night. If we are successful the end result is $220 AUD per night + 12,250 HH points, and the reservation can be cancelled or changed if needed. :D

Wow, this might be the way I'll use to stay at Hilton Arc de Triomphe - 25,000 points plus US$85 seems perfect. Just one thing - do they have to be booked over the phone? I can't see how you book it via the website.

The website normally offers them (if available) if you select "Use HHonors Points" before a search.

It will then include the various points options where available in the search results which you can select - there may be several different room types with different levels.

I'm seeing the Standard Room awards (so 50,000 for the Arc de Triomphe, Paris, but no "points plus pay" options). Am I doing something wrong?

I don;t think so - if you see standard rewards then Paing+Pay would come up if available.

Try the AdT in the next day or so to see what I mean.

Yes. Just did 5 nights in London. Account shows x1 stay and x5 nights. No points for dollars (£) spent. Just 1000 bonus points.

Which in my estimation is very fair. I just wish some airlines would be just as fair with the awarding of SCs on redemption flights.

I sometimes find the points plus pay option difficult to see. When you first go into the booking try ticking 'Use flexible dates.' The page that comes up then has a drop down that has HHonors Points, Points & Money Rewards and Standard Rates. Click update and presto....

If you put in, for example, three days and any one does not have Points & Pay available it all comes up unavailable so it often pays to play around with it.

Thanks - I'm going to have to do some more playing around with this. However, it seems Hilton Arc de Triomphe is a little weird about this - they do have points and money rewards, but they don't seem to be available all the time. Sometimes when I've looked I can find the standard 50K HHonors points rate, but then it doesn't have Points and Money rewards at the same time. When they have had P&M rewards available alongside the standard room rewards, they don't use the standard scales (they were offering a standard room for 5K HHonors points or 25K points plus EUR150 - which is way above the guidelines above.

The process doesn't seem consistent.
