I've just been offered a status extension back to Diamond (otherwise will fall to silver in April).

Anyone used this before?

I'm tempted, having seen that I could well get to lifetime diamond (in a few years), even though I had resolved to move away from Hilton given the demise of HSW and recent average experiences.

It only got added to the program last year.
Basically a one use only type thing.

Yes, very clearly says once per membership life. Seeing as you have to be Diamond already I suspect if I don't use it now I may never take it up. Plus they may kill the offer down the track.

Took the plunge. Confirmed 9 days later (not quite the 5 days promised, but fine).

Didn't think I'd be able to meet a diamond challenge, so went with this for the earlier-stated reasons.

No idea if this will count as a Diamond year for LTD purposes (can't see why it would). also a bit unsure if it will carry through to end-March 2019 or just 31/12/18.

In any event, have booked a couple of places where I will enjoy Diamond perks at base prices - will be happy enough with that. Not so fussed with Hiltons any more.

I've just received this offer for my Diamond ending March 31.

I have little travel coming up (though that may change) - maybe half-a-dozen trips in the next membership year - so am debating whether to make use of this once-only-ever-offer; the flip is that I don't see that changing anytime into the next few years either ... so why not use it?

Mrs BD always enjoys the EL if we are travelling for the footy ...

Plus - who knows how long this offer may be around - or whether other means may come about which allow Diamond Status ...

What are peoples thoughts?

Regards,

BD

As above, I took advantage of it. I did have around 8 to 10 stays through 2018 which meant it was very worthwhile (ELs, free breakfasts, several upgrades - including very good ones in India and Dubai).

Unless you are dead sure you'll get to Diamond again in the next couple of years, I'd take it up now.

Thanks kermatu.
