Hey Qantas, why is it that ....?

You have to show your CC within 2 days of booking your ticket in BKK (and many other cities), but for almost every other airline (that requires a CC to be sighted), you can do so at check-in???

Absolutely agree. Very frustrating

I found out that in the case of the BKK office you can also do a bank transfer. You have to call them, get the back details, do the transfer and then send them a screenshot. At least it means not having to go to the BKK office. I have only tried with a local Thai bank account

I do have a TH account, but that doesn't help if you have to book and fly *Out Of Hours* - think last minute booking on a Friday, for a flight on Saturday or Sunday. (Stupid, stupid, stupid QF.)

Just flown Jetstar Asia from Singapore to Siem reap to Pnhom Penh to Singapore
no complaints, staff were efficient, pilot did a 10/10 job of landing the A320 in a heavy rain squall in Siem Reap after 20 minutes of holding to let the worst go through

London is an endpoint for Qantas and I am sure that there isn't a huge number of Qantas elites in London.

Is there any reason a London based person should retain Qantas status?

I'm 5sc short of LTG (plat till Feb 2014 and well on my way to requalify) and struggling to find reasons to credit to Qantas after that point.

I can not use olci on any Qantas international flight, please update your computer system to recognise my hyphenated first name - really hate if I am on same booking as family as it prevents all of us from olci. I know my passport and boarding don't match and so do you please fix it!!!!

Why did QF5 on 23 August run out of champagne?

Why is the food better in domestic business class than international business class?

I second that, particularly in terms of international business class breakfast between Asia and Australia. I really struggle to understand how anyone (a beancounter?) could think that it is OK to offer a miserable breakfast service on the Asis-Australia flights
a) to save money, and/or
b) just because some passengers prefer to maximise their sleep?

I understand that some passengers prefer to maximise sleep, but the miserable mini-breakfast does not save much time anyway and there are eyemasks and earplugs invented for those that do not want to see light / hear things around them.

Consequence for me: I now book my Asia-Australia flights on Singapore or Cathay because they still offer a real breakfast on their overnight flights.

Wow, can't believe the comments that the food in domestic economy is better the international J. The new small plates concept is fantastic.

as for the express breakfast on red eyes from Asia, again a great idea, nothing worse than the clunk of trolleys and dishes 2 hours before landing after only5 or 6 hours in the air, I think QF has the balance right.

Except that the offering for the Cafe Breakfast is terrible and not becoming of any J service anywhere. As others have said, eye shades and ear plugs deal with the noise of breakfast if you don't want it. Give those of us who do want a proper breakfast the choice and something representative of the fare paid for a J seat.

A rather mangy ham and cheese croissant and three chunks of fruit does not cut the mustard!

Read again. I said domestic business not economy!

Preference wise the bangers and mash I just had on my BNE-SYD was vastly preferable to the offerings on QF52 last night. Not to mention I would have liked an entree course last night. I also would have like a pre dinner drink.

I would have liked a printed menu in J on QF 82 last night instead of a photocopied A4 flimsy sheet of paper typed in about 6 point font.

Perhaps the tiny font was deliberate so that we didn't notice (or couldn't read) the disappointing food options.

Oh well, at least I managed about 6 hours doze.

Yeah. I loved my "Order - on - Q" Rueben sandwich..... tasted like they cooked it the day I ordered it online! stale and tasteless.

Café breakfast I'm for, but those that have coughed up $4k a piece should be given the choice a la that little hotel-style breakfast card they used to do.
I'd tick café. others would tick bacon, eggs, croissant, fruit and whatever.

The photocopy menu set off one small alarm bell for me. Are they that hard up?

Just sitting in the lounge in Singapore
how good is this !
superb range of food and drinks etc but WHY IS THERE NONE OF THE SUPERB LIQUORICE ALL SORTS THAT THEY HAVE IN THE MELBOURNE AND SYDNEY LOUNGES
Just joking this lounge is superb but I do like LIQUORICE all sorts too

Why is it that QF FF elites can not register their preferred credit card(s) which can then be used on ANY of Qantas' web sites with no further (personal) interaction?

Happy wandering (but not when needing to visit QF country reps)

Fred

I was being optimistic and hoping they'd had an unexpectedly high number of J bookings so ran out of printed ones and then decided it wasn't worth printing new ones as the menu will change on 1 Sep.

But it could be that they are that hard up.

i appreciate you are a P1 and your feedback is important to qantas... but i hope they're not placing too great a weight on feedback from customers such as yourself.

the concept of an express breakfast is not for everyone.

if they want to have a sleeper service they could introduce that by dividing the business cabin with a curtain like virgin Atlantic, or introduce a dinner or breakfast service similar to SQ (meals served quietly in a dark cabin, those who wish to sleep do so).

as for the clunk of trolleys and dishes... there is absolutely no excuse for this. it's just bad flight attendant attitude. you can make as much or as little noise as you want, the thoughtful ones will be quiet.
