Negative result here.
Oh well, will have to compensate ourselves with a dinner in Attica sometime next year ;)

No luck. Probably saves me about $2k including flights and hotel though.

If I recall correctly, it's two seatings per day (lunch and dinner) Tuesday-Saturday, so that'd be ~260 meal times in total (by 42 people). ....
I think I was looking at old information.

So, 42 x 2 x 6 x $750 = $378,000 per week - that'll buy a lot of duck!

Are you factoring in beverage spend, serfty?

According to the confirmation email, it's 525pp for the meal; 675pp for Chef's Table. Food only.

Based on early information and estimates -$750 pp seemed a reasonable figure.

I'm sure there's a matched beverage package likely to be in the region to make it thereabouts.

Noma Tokyo is feeling a bit more reasonable now at around AUD800 including matched wines.

Just getting a bit worried about no one being on the "A" list so far.

We have to pre-pay for all four pax when they call to confirm.

That is how you run a ballot! Skin in the game from day one ... shame the drongo running Anzac 2015 ballot didn't approach it with the a similar attitude.

Congrats, Enjoy!

Between friends, we missed on about 8 applications. I was lucky enough to go in Bray a couple of years ago and although it was a bit tricky to get a table then, it was a lot easier than here based on the feedback. With a fixed 6 month opportunity window, it seems that good old scarcity has again proved it's weight in gold. FWIW it was a magnificent meal in Bray that lived up to the hype for us!

Missed out also, however was lucky enough to go to Dinner in London last Dec so still have a smile on my face!

I watched his Roman bacchanalia feast on TV a few days ago. Some of the ideas presented even made the participants look rather green around the gills. The boar comes to mind.

This was his Roman meal.

Blumenthal creates a feast inspired by the gluttonous meals of the ancient Roman Empire.

Aperitif: Pig's Nipple Scratchings
Entrée: Calf's Brain Custard
Main Course: The Trojan Hog
Pudding: cough Cake

The Hog was presented as a whole pig on a stake and stuffed with mincemeat. It was placed over the table so that the belly hovered over a serving dish. He then sliced through the belly and out tumbled the stuffing - in the form of sausages so it looked like a mass of steaming intestines tumbling out. The participants didn't look like they ate all that much.

After reading that I'm kind of glad I missed the cut

I was thinking whilst watching the show that I hope I missed the cut.

I'm sure the show was out to shock, which it did and the restaurant will be entirely different. However one does wonder at the mind that created it.

Good Food - Fat Duck Melbourne ballot entrants learn their fate

It was good news for 14,000 fans of Heston Blumenthal and bad news for a whole lot more as those who entered an online ballot for a chance to eat at the lauded chef's temporary Fat Duck restaurant in Melbourne learned their fate on Monday and Tuesday.

A Crown spokeswoman said there were nearly 90,000 applications in the online ballot, which ran from October 8 to October 26.
