I still haven't managed to get rid of QFF! Thought I had but rental last weekend didn't appear in my Velocity account and checked receipt today - surprise surprise it shows QFF! On top of trying to overcharge me very annoying!

FWIW there is a disconnect between your booking and profile, when they go to process the booking the location gets presented with all your FF numbers, not the one you select, indicating their program is mapping to the wrong field. Apparently I have a heap of them and the top one is DJ, which is why the paperwork always specifies DJ vs VS which is my default choice.

PREMIUM EMERGENCY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE: Provides roadside assistance including lockouts, lost key, flat tire & mounting, and
dead battery, among other services. Travel interruption reimbursement
up to $1,000.

Never had that added to my rentals, however every single rental they try to sneak in the standard insurance extras :( even though I don't have it selected on my profile.

Means I have to wait around while they re-print the contract :(

Thanks Markis. Does this mean that you have a dead battery, which may not be your fault..Hertz will charge you to come and start the vehicle?

I searched the T & C's and found this.

"Breakdown Roadside Assistance where the problem for which assistance is requested is not a problem with, or inherent to, the Vehicle, for example: the Vehicle has run out of petrol or You have locked the keys in the Vehicle. $150.00 (exclusive of GST)"
and another sting I found searching the T & C's. ... which I assume is above any accident excess.

"In the event of an Accident the cost of recovery and/or towing the Vehicle to a Hertz location, police compound or a vehicle assessment / repair facility. From $150.00 (exclusive of GST) depending on distance travelled and time and/or difficulty of recovery of the Vehicle to be towed".

I would have assumed this sort of comment in relation to a 'dead battery' would be for renter error, such as in not turning headlights off when parking overnight.

I can't see it applying to simply being unable to start on a cold morning (which would represent a problem with the vehicle).

(xiv) Breakdown Roadside Assistance
The cost of providing breakdown roadside assistance, where the problem (for which assistance is requested by You or an Additional Driver) is not caused by a problem inherent to the Vehicle.
...

Breakdown Roadside Assistance where the problem for which assistance is requested is not a problem with, or inherent to, the Vehicle, for example: the Vehicle has run out of petrol or You have locked the keys in the Vehicle. $150.00 (exclusive of GST)
So that $2 would cover for running out of fuel, lost keys, locking keys in car and leaving headlights on to flatten the battery.

I did not see a $2 roadside assistance fee for my Hertz rental last weekend.

So up to 730 per year. Nice scam...
Not bad for something that costs ~AUD65 per year.

And I notice the GPS is not actually an additional $9.95 once you add the premium location surcharge and then GST on top of that.
