Hertz/Citylink Rant

Opposite experience from Hertz in Melbourne recently. Car hire from Melb airport 21st dec and return on 4th Jan the charge for pre paid fuel was 97c/L

That's when you pre-pay for a full tank (and then try to return it as empty as possible, because you've paid for a full tank no matter what). The $2.55/L price is when you don't pre-pay and just return it with the tank "not full".

opusman,

I missed the point at the time of posting probably because I didn't think people would ever return a car with the tank "not full".

Think twice about renting from Hertz, think definitely not using citylink ever if i can avoid - will use western ring road in future.
I have vowed not use toll roads unless I am in a great hurry or there is no realistic alternative....
