Yes, once logged into my hertz account it auto-populate this code on the booking page:

But it doesn't say Five Star just the standard gold plus:

You just need to call amex to get a status match, they'll contact hertz to get it updated.

thank you, I called them today and the lady said she will escalate it with Hertz and get back to me tomorrow. Fingers cross.

You actually need to make a booking and rent. After the first rental your account should update with the five star status.

My account did not update to Five Star until after my first rental closed and posted to the account.

Umm, they just upgraded me straight to President’s Circle. First time hertz member. I emailed them back asking if i’ll be keeping this status if i continue to retain my platinum card or if i’ll be downgraded to Five Star Plus next year. I’ll update once I get a reply.

I've called Amex up twice now, both times they told me all they can do is email Hertz and get back to me once they have replied. I still haven't heard back from AMEX...
Any tips @Tonyladz ?

Umm, they emailed for me too to get the status updated. Did you call the platinum team?

just got off the phone with AMEX team. Both reps I spoke to said the Five Star is only for Business Platinum members and the personal platinum card only gets the Hertz Gold Plus Reward. I asked him to email me something in writing but he needs approval from his supervisor so lets see if it comes through.

They sent me this link which shows:


But once you click enrolment, the next page says FIVE STAR. They can't see this because they can't login to your account apparently.

I also spoke to the cancellations team since I ws frustrated talking to them and my annual fee is due next month. They only offered me to switch to a Gold card to reduce the annual fee.. and since I can't use much of the travel perks the platinum card offers.

So, i just got a reply from amex. They mentioned that’ll ill retain my status each year as long as i keep my amex open. Weird do you amex platinum personal card?

Is it just me, or is Hertz significantly increasing prices and offering no discounts for Amex CDPs now? I've got my old ones (211762) and previously it would give substantial discounts of 15%, but now it's giving nothing.

Also, there seems to be a lack of weekend rates now - the standard weekday rates apply on weekends and I can't see I'm getting quote weekend rates (even when I rent Saturday to Sunday only).

Has something changed or am I doing something wrong here?

When I got my card in the early 2000s, I had to complete the enrolment forms through Amex and then badger Hertz about it for a while. Since then though I've been PC and not needed the Amex upgrade.
