Hi everyone. Can someone please help me with the taxes and carrier charges associated with a RTW economy ticket? I don't have the full amount of points yet so I can't try a sample account on the Qantas website.

Here's my question. You get the 35000 Oneworld award and decide to start your trip in Manila. This is a special choice as I have heard that the Phillipines banned carrier charges.
You book a ticket going Manila to Tokyo to London with a land segment then Amsterdam to Hong Kong and then Manila flying on One world airlines all the way. All on the same ticket.
To book this you are taken to the Phillipines website. Once you put the itinerary into the Qantas Phillipines booking engine, will only the first leg of the trip be free of carrier charges or will all legs of the round the world journey be free of carrier charges?
Thanks Peter

I’m not sure that this Philippines rule still applies. Nonetheless, if you wanted to post an exact itinerary here (with dates etc. included) I’m sure someone here will be able to tell you what the taxes are.

Any dates are fine. I simply want to see which legs of the trip would attract carrier charges if starting from Manila.

Have you tried a simple 2 flight booking? One from Manila to xx_ and then xx_ to somewhere? If you include a stopover, that will tell you if fuel surcharges are applied to the second flight, or not.

You can get a full listing of all taxes fees and charges for a booking via ITA matrix. You could enter in all your other sectors. If fuel surcharges arent applied, you’d exclude those in your calculation.

I remember looking at this back in the day and if you're lucky it would work on the first airline but sometimes not at all. Depending on the route chosen or mix of airlines it might also work on the second airline. At the end of the day it is whatever the Qantas website says it is.

I just had a look - the taxes on the following itinerary in Y are PHP 31,979.00.

MNL-HKG-NRT on CX/JL
HND-LHR on BA
AMS-HKG on CX
HKG-MNL on CX
